US 98 Community Outreach Group (COG) Meeting
July 29, 2008

• Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) provided updated information on the intersection details for the west end of the US 98 project.
o Interchanges on New US 98
 Old Us 98/New US 98
 Jones Road
 Wilmer Georgetown Road
o No access to New US 98
 Walter Tanner Road
 Glenwood Road
 Dolive Road
• Hosea O Weaver will begin paving the west end of the project to Tanner Road within next 2 weeks
• The Corps of Engineers permit for slope repair work in wetlands at Outfall 25 (east of Wilmer Georgetown Road) is currently on public notice. The public comment period will close on July 29, 2008 at midnight.
• COG members reported that members of community are concerned that ALDOT will close existing bridge on Old 98 at Big Creek Lake when new US 98 is complete. ALDOT assured the COG that it had no plan to close any existing bridges on US98.
• ALDOT announced plans for a community meeting in fall 2008. Date to be announced.
• COG members were provided Project Tour. (See attached map)
