Escatawpa to Jones Road (8,650’) –
• Base and pave project complete through this section.
• A high performance mulch applied to exposed soil shoulders for stabilization.
• BMPs such as wattles and inlet protection devices in place for sediment control.

Jones Road to Walter Tanner (10,650’) –
• Base and pave project underway. Lower asphalt layer complete from Jones Road to Scarbo Creek bridges.
• High performance mulch applied to exposed soil shoulders for stabilization from Jones Road to Scarbo Creek bridges.
• Silt fencing, wattles, and inlet protection devices in place for sediment control.
• Fill slopes with anchoring system completed and stabilized with high performance mulch
• All other areas stabilized with BMPs.

Walter Tanner to Wilmer-Georgetown (4,186’) –
• Construction of roadways, drain pipes, and ditches from Station 250 to 281 complete.
• Temporary BMPs controlling erosion and sediment include -aggregate surfacing, wattles, inlet protection, slope stabilization with grassing, and rolled erosion control products.

Wilmer-Georgetown to Glenwood (13,617’) –
• Roadways, ditch lines, and pipe construction completed west of Big Creek from Station 385 to 398. Hazardous material spill containment pond west of Big Creek bridges completed.
• Area east of Big Creek bridges stabilized with erosion control products and grassing. West bound access road covered with aggregate surfacing.
• Excess muck pile removal complete from Station 340 to 350 and east roadway being completed and stabilized.
• Automatic water quality monitors installed for Long Branch and Big Creek
• All completed areas have temporary BMPs controlling erosion and sediment that include aggregate surfacing, wattles, inlet protection, slope stabilization with grassing, and rolled erosion control products.

Glenwood to east end (4,964’) –
• Construction resumed on the western ½ of this section beginning this month. Soil exposure work limited by ALDOT to the required maximum of 17.5 acres.
• Construction of ditch lines and sediment ponds stabilized with rip rap in progress from Station 430 to Station 435. Roadbed fill activities in progress from Station 430 to 440.
• Automatic water quality monitors installed for Collins Creek.
• Remaining areas are vegetated and temporary BMPs in place.



Environmental Issues:
- Rain Days: Feb 2 (0.25”avg.), Feb 11 (0.16”avg.), Feb 14 (1.35” avg), Feb 15 (0.14” avg). Feb 19 (0.15” avg.), Feb 22 (0.07” avg.). Total of 2.12 inches of rain this month. Several outfall locations with “discharge only” flow conditions were noted as Unsatisfactory due to higher turbidity readings during the heavy rain reported on February 14 but no water quality violations (readings greater than 50 ntu above background) this month.
